Thanks to Rotary for large Grant
We are now able to start our IT Training center where the oldest of our students will be trained in basic IT knowledge. This project takes off in the beginning of 2010.
In mid September Thorvald Jacobsen informed that Rotary Foundation approved of this project and decided to support it with the amount that we had applied for. To start and run the project amounts to US $ 26.000 which the involved Rotary departments have agreed to supply.
This is wonderful, and we want to convey our gratefulness and thanks to Thorvald Jacobsen who is the driving force for raising the finances for this project.
3 Rotary Clubs in Horsens
3 Clubs in Horsens have supported MovingSchool with a large amount at Danish crowns 75.000 during the fall of 2008.
It was a great pleasure to speak at the clubs and to point out that this support will be treated with the greatest respect.
The clubs are:
Horsens Vestre Rotary Club
Horsens Østre Rotary Club
Horsens Vitus Bering Rotary Club
With Thorvald Jacobsen in charge, these 3 clubs are now working on raising funds through Rotary Foundation which is a part of Rotary International.
This will be done in cooperation with a German friendship club from Clausthal-Zellerfeld in Harzen.
If Rotary Foundation is going to support the project it also has to be done in cooperation with a local club in India. Therefore we have chosen Rotary Club in Mapusa which is the nearest City.
The owner of Vrundavan Hospital Dr. Digambar Naik has been acquainted with the project for some years and is personally a member of Rotary Club of Mapusa.
In the year 2003 I spoke about MovingSchool in this club, and there was applause but otherwise no response. Now because of Thorvald we have succeeded to establish a working relationship with the Mapusa Club.
Manisha Kulkani also held a lecture in the same club which apparently convinced the members that our project is worthwhile of their support.
Our plan is to open an IT /computer center where the students can be introduced to computers. In this way all the older kids can be taught the most common programs such as; Word, Exel, Outlook, Google etc. and get a personal email address.
The children will be able to use and search the Internet.
Our hope it to be able to acquire an IT set for a class with 15 PC machines that will be kept in our IT center.
2 teachers with qualifications in IT techniques and communications will supervise this IT class.
